The Fallow
Buck (male) stands about 2foot 6 inches at
the shoulder and weigh up to 120 lb. It is a very slight, dainty and
graceful deer yet extremely aggressive during the rut. There are three main colour fazes for Fallow Deer: 1. Common (dark brown coat) 2. Albanistic (white coat) 3. Menilistic(a lighter colour brown with obvious spots) Only the bucks have antlers that are palmated broad and shovel shaped. During the Fallow deer’s rut, which starts in Mid April and finishes in May, the Bucks vocalize making a ‘grunt’ or ‘croaking” as he issues his challenge. Visit Fallow Buck Photo Gallery |
